Is WhirlPicker free?
Yes. There are no ads, no accounts and nothing to install. Open the page, paste your names and spin.
How do I stop the same name being picked twice?
For a list of names, "Everyone gets a turn before anyone repeats" is on by default. A name that has been picked sits out until everyone has had a turn, then a new round starts. You can switch it off for pure random spins.
Can I keep two people apart when making teams?
Yes. In Make groups, add a "keep apart" pair and every shuffle respects it. If the rules can't all be met, WhirlPicker says which pair is the problem.
Where are my lists saved?
Only in this browser, on this device. Nothing is uploaded. Use Back up & restore to copy your lists to another device. We count page visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and never sees your lists.
Does it work on a smartboard or projector?
Yes. Choose Present full screen from the ⋯ menu. Space, the right arrow or a presentation clicker picks the next name.
